Ripley's Aquarium

Citadel Construction is proud to have built numerous attractions at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. A large, multi-level play structure installed by Citadel required extensive welding inspections as well as safety checks. The steel structure towers in the atrium of Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, TN. Citadel Construction managed the entire construction process on an expedited schedule from start to finish.

Citadel Construction later provided construction management for the new glass bottom boat ride. This feature attraction is built around a 3,500 lb glass bottom boat, which required retrofitting the building in order to accommodate the large installation.

Citadel Construction continues to help on various projects throughout the Aquarium, including the new penguin experience, among others.

Renovation work on Ripley’s Gatlinburg properties have won numerous renovation awards, including Guinness World Records Renovation of the Year and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Renovation of the Year
